Comparative tables of NZ lamb, mutton, beef and venison processor prices to farmers

These tables compare different company price offerings on the same net basis for a large number of carcass grades and weights. There are separate North Island and South Island tables. Nearly all major companies provide Agri-Fax with their operating prices each week, although some companies do not allow their prices to be displayed individually.

Long term trend tables and graphs

These cover carcass prices for North Island, South Island, New Zealand for many grades and types of lamb, beef, deer and goat. Weekly price data from as far back as 1987 is available.

Overseas Market Prices

Prices for carcasses, meat cuts, skins and hides for lamb, beef, and venison being received in world markets are available, in NZ dollars and trading currency of importer.

Market Indicator Prices

Each week, the prices for all the components of the meat, skin/hide, by-products, processing costs are inputted into computer models. From these are derived Market Indicator prices for three grades of Lamb, and for Prime Steer and Heifer, Cow and Bull. Slaughter Statistics

These are available from 1989 for Lamb, Mutton, Steer and Heifer, Cow, Bull, Bobby calf, Stag, and Hind. All are available in North Island, South Island and New Zealand formats. The best presentation is in graphical form, with current year, last year, and 5 year average. A detailed analysis table putting the current weekly and seasonal production levels into a historical perspective is also available by fax or email as a pdf file.
